Probably Stolen Beginner Guide
Learn the core shopkeeping loop, from inspecting goods and making trades to controlling cash flow as rent rises. This section focuses on systems available in the current demo and keeps planned full-game content separate.
- 1
Inspect merchandise before buying or reselling it; different goods can require visual inspection, water testing, permits, recipes, or appraisal.
- 2
Buy and sell through customer interactions, and haggle carefully because bargains can affect both profit and reputation.
- 3
Keep enough cash available for rising rent, since falling behind reduces store attractiveness and can lead to fewer customers and lower revenue.
- 4
Decide how to handle suspicious customers and questionable goods by approving, refusing, reporting, hiding, or otherwise managing the risk.

- DemoCurrent
The September 2026 Steam demo contains three starting scenarios plus hardcore mode.
- Water MerchantDemo
The demo's Water Merchant scenario provides water testing and purification equipment from the start.
- Rock BottomHardcore
Rock Bottom is the announced hardcore starting scenario where the player begins with nothing.
- Full Game PathsPlanned
Official full-game material names gunsmith, chemist, water merchant, fence, farmer, and starting from absolute rock bottom.
Probably Stolen Water Merchant Guide
Learn the water systems that the current demo puts front and centre: testing, purification, containers, and bottle production. The September demo update also expands the Bottle Printer and other water mechanics.
- 1
Choose the Water Merchant scenario to begin with water testing and purification equipment already available.
- 2
Test and filter water before selling it, because water quality is one of the product-specific risks the official game description highlights.
- 3
Upgrade the Bottle Printer with electronic parts to unlock the normal Bottle Printer and then the Large Bottle Printer.
- 4
Remember that water containers count as water goods while holding liquid and as household goods when empty, which changes how market pricing applies.
Probably Stolen Trading and Haggling Guide
Understand how buying, selling, appraisal, bargaining, and customer budgets shape your profit margins. Trading is tied to reputation and risk, so the highest immediate price is not always the only consequence of a deal.
- Haggling
Players can haggle for better deals, while the game's bargaining system can affect customer budgets and reputation outcomes.
- Appraisal
Rare merchandise should be properly appraised so the shop does not overpay for valuable-looking goods.
- Barter
The game supports barter interactions with customers alongside regular credit-based transactions.
- Supply and Demand
The official feature list describes balancing supply and demand by attracting the right customers to the store.
Probably Stolen Items and Machines
Explore the tools, machines, upgrades, and inventory systems used to run and expand the shop. The September demo update added or upgraded several important pieces of equipment and introduced major inventory quality-of-life features.
- ToolboxDemo
The Toolbox stores tools such as the blue and red labelers, supports number-key equipment slots, and can be bought from Dr. Jackson after day 14.
- Bottle Printer
Electronic parts can upgrade the Bottle Printer to unlock the normal and large Bottle Printer stages.
- Vacuum Robot
A Common Electronic can upgrade the Vacuum Robot with a built-in incinerator that consumes double normal power while enabled.
- Inventory Tools
The current demo supports multi-item selection, contextual inventory sorting, item rotation and flipping, and more simultaneous inventory windows.
Probably Stolen Contraband and Reputation Guide
Learn how illegal merchandise, inspections, underground trading, factions, and reputation interact with your shop. Official material makes legality a central risk-reward system, where better margins often bring greater exposure to Security.
- Security
Weapons can require permits, suspicious merchandise can trigger inspections, and illegal activity can create consequences with station Security.
- Contraband
Players can hide stolen goods and contraband from the authorities, while the official feature list also allows bribery when caught.
- Black Market
The game includes Black Market reputation and underground trading systems, including access to an Underground Exchange.
- Reputation
Reputation can provide access and protection, but the developer also warns that stronger faction ties can make the player a target.
Probably Stolen Augs and Rogue AI Guide
Learn the game's rogue-AI threat and how Aug encounters fit into the shopkeeper's daily decisions. Augs can look like ordinary people, which makes observation and correct identification an important survival mechanic.
- 1
Watch customers for suspicious signs, because the developer describes Augs as hosts controlled by a rogue sentient AI.
- 2
Use the inspection information and scanning tools available to you before deciding whether a customer is an Aug.
- 3
Act only after making an identification decision; the official description states that every faction supports the anti-AI policy and gives the player a gun to enforce it.
- 4
Avoid careless judgements, because both missing an Aug and misreading an innocent customer can carry consequences.
